Cocaine worth £160,000 was found by officers from the UK Border Agency in the false bottom of a suitcase at Gatwick Airport.

The four kilos of cocaine were discovered when officers searched the baggage off a flight from Bridgetown, Barbados, on Tuesday 9 March.

Nick Crouch, Assistant Director of UK Border Agency at Gatwick said:

"This was a good find by UK Border Agency officers which relied upon their vigilance.

"It is especially encouraging as it demonstrates that the strike by the PCS union has not caused the level of disruption intended to our round the clock protection of the border to protect the UK from harm."

A 40-year-old woman from London has been charged with the illegal importation of a controlled drug.
